I work in a high school
1. We have a Sheriff here all day long. My room is the farthest from the front office and right next to an external door. By the time that Sheriff got to my corner of the building, 3-4 classrooms could be gone, if not more.
2. Students *may* speak up but many of them won't. They don't know what to take seriously and they are afraid to get people in trouble.
3. Can't wait to see my kids use a stapler to fight off an semi-automatic weapon.
Been a rough 24 hours wondering what I'd do if somebody came into my school and tried to hurt these kids. So d@mn tired of people saying we need more security measures at the schools. You can't keep a school secure 24x7 - it's absolutely not possible.
Something has to change and it's not adding more layers of security at school and making more plans.
